New B Side Shuffle Posted

Hey everybody! I posted the latest B Side Shuffle show on LMA. The guys really put on a great show at 930 Club last Thursday. Check out the link to the right to download it now. I will be posting B Side Shuffle's most recent shows this week, so check back for more shows!

Updates

Sorry that I have been away so long. Work has been killing me lately! I assure you that I have been taping some great shows though . . . Jackie Greene, Leftover Salmon, Rich Robinson, and some B Side Shuffle! I am going to be mastering them in the very near future and will post links. 

Also, keep an eye out for some updates to the blog. My wife is going to be adding some high-quality photos of the shows, and I am going to be adding some audio samples for the tapes. 

I have the Howlin' Brothers posted on etree.org. Check the links to the right for some good shows. And stay tuned for some recordings soon!

Howlin' Brothers 5/19

I am going to Hill Country BBQ tomorrow night to tape the Howlin' Brothers. I will be running three sets of new mics, two Neumann 140's, two Busman Little Bs, and two AT853's. 

Looking forward to a new bluegrass band!!

Adios Mexico!

I am leaving Mexico tomorrow to head back to the States. It has been fun, and I can't wait to come back. Unfortunately, I did not make any tapes down here - not for lack of trying - but I am going to get a Mariachi next time.

Updates From Mexico

Hey everyone! Greetings from San Juan de los Lagos in Mexico. I am here visiting family and loving the city. And I am on the lookout for a Mariachi to record, but no success yet. But no worries, I will be looking for the authentic sound to capture with my AT933's.

I have also added a nice set of Neumann's to my mic arsenal. I can't wait to use them later this month at the Hometown Holiday Festival in Rockville. I am going to run them with my Nak CM1000's, Busman BSC1's, and AT933's. I am considering running another set of Naks with it, Nak CM300 or 100's. But I am trying to slim the rig down some; we'll see how that goes with several sweet sounding mics at home.

Mike Gordon Band

All of the shows were great, and I got some good recordings from some. The second set of the Mike Gordon Band sounds great, and I got a patch for the first set. Chris let me tape from the soundboard during the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and that tape turned out great. I am still working on the April 19 tapes.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops were brilliant and wonderful musicians. Their knowledge of music history was unbelievable, and they played several different historical styles and made them their own. I left the show feeling smarter, hungry for some old vinyl, and very happy.

B Side Shuffle is the best D.C. band right now. They sound great and put on a very exciting show. You should absolutely catch them whenever you can. Check out some video on their website (bsideshuffle.com).
